Over 1,000 players and 50 academies joined the event organized with New Football Era, as the club delivered training sessions, evaluated talent, and visited the Embassy of Spain in Nigeria
C.D. Leganés has completed a highly productive and inspiring international trip to Nigeria, where the club spent one week delivering training sessions, evaluating talent and sharing its official methodology as part of an event organized by New Football Era.
The initiative brought together an extraordinary level of participation, with more than 1,000 players and over 50 academies from across the country attending sessions, matches and technical workshops led by the club’s international staff.
Throughout the week, our team conducted training sessions, match observations and tactical evaluations, gaining valuable insight into the growing football potential of Nigerian youth players. The enthusiasm, discipline and natural talent displayed by the participants exceeded all expectations.
“We were impressed by the quality, passion and commitment of the players and coaches we met in Nigeria. The level was outstanding, and the energy around the event was remarkable,” said the International Department of C.D. Leganés.
In addition to the sporting activities, the club also had the honor of visiting the Embassy of Spain in Nigeria, strengthening institutional ties and discussing future opportunities for collaboration between Spanish and Nigerian football ecosystems.
C.D. Leganés would like to extend its sincere gratitude for the hospitality, and to all the academies, players and families who participated with such enthusiasm. Our staff was welcomed warmly throughout the visit, making the experience not only professional but deeply meaningful.
This international initiative marks an important step in the club’s long-term strategy to expand its presence in Africa, promote football development and build bridges between C.D. Leganés and emerging global markets.
More updates on international projects and upcoming events will be shared soon.
