This Sunday C.D. Leganés secured their first away win of the season and did so on hallowed ground. Anduva, the site of their historic promotion to Primera in 2016, also set the scene for Garitano's first away win of the season in what was the fourth outing of the campaign.
Up until now, Leganés had only won points on the road during their visit to S.D. Eibar (1-1). In the Miranda de Ebro, the pepineros took an early lead thanks to Jon Bautista's goal, which came in a great first 15 minutes in which they were even able to extend their lead. Despite the equaliser, Javi Hernández's goal sealed the win.
A "crucial" victory, as Asier Garitano described it, both the second in a row and the team's second at Anduva, after the unforgettable win on 4 June 2016 that saw Leganés reach the top flight for the first time. Undoubtedly, a revered ground for all pepineros.
