Asier Garitano: "We leave with a defeat and that hurts, but we have done many things well against the best team in the category".

C.D. Leganés' coach, Asier Garitano, held a press conference after the match against R.C.D. Espanyol at the RCDE Stadium, corresponding to the thirty-fourth round of LaLiga SmartBank, which ended with a 2-1 defeat.

The coach summed up the match in this way: "We came to play against a rival that was very solvent at home. We wanted to play in their field and make them feel uncomfortable, but we found ourselves with a great goal from Darder after thirty seconds. We reacted well, we had a one-on-one with Arnaiz that would have put us in the match. We both had many chances and we have to improve in that area, but I'm happy with the way the team responded and the situations we created. We leave with a defeat and that hurts, we will have to improve situations to try to achieve the 'play-off'".

"We will continue in the same line of trying to keep improving, be regular and try to get the 'play-off'."

Asier had an impact on the analysis of the match: "We have to correct things as a team. The first play is an action in which we have an advantage but Darder makes a great goal. We got into the game, they also had the penalty for the 2-0, but we generated four or five goal actions. We scored the equalizer and, with the match more even, we conceded the second. We had chances, Juan's shot hit the post... details that sometimes go against you. We generated a lot against the best team in the category and we did a lot of things right".

When asked about the eight remaining matches, the player from Bergara assured that they know that "every match will be very tough, because we all have a lot at stake. We will continue in the same line of trying to keep improving, be regular and try to achieve the play-off and be ready to see if we are capable of achieving the objective. We don't have the play-off, but we have to be confident. We have competed well and we will take the positives and also the negatives to continue improving", he concluded.
