C.D Leganés have reached an agreement with 36-year-old goalkeeper Asier Riesgo Unamuno to join the pepineros for the 2020/21 season. The goalkeeper counts with a relevant experience in Spanish football and played the previous season at Girona F.C.
Riesgo was formed at Real Sociedad’s academy and made his debut as a professional football player with S.D Eibar in the 2002/03 season at Second Division. He returned to Real Sociedad where he played for five and a half seasons with the first team. He played along with the current pepineros’ manager José Luis Martí there. He was later loaned to R.C Recreativo de Huelva in 2008/09.
Relevant career in Spanish First and Second Division
He signed for C.A Osasuna in 2010 after reaching the promotion with Real Sociedad and stayed for five more seasons with the navarros. He returned to S.D Eibar in 2015/16 and played there for four years, all of them in LaLiga Santander. He played the last season for Girona F.C 27 matches and managed to get to the promotion playoffs final.
Riesgo has played with Spain National Team on all its categories until U-21. He was champion of Europe in 2002 with the U-19 team and world runner up with the U-20 on the next year. A solid and experience goalkeeper that will join the team. Details about his presentation will be published soon.
