C.D. Leganés and Asier Riesgo extend their partnership for one more season

C.D. Leganés and goalkeeper Asier Riesgo have reached an agreement to extend his contract for one more season. In this way, the goalkeeper from Guipuzcoa will continue to form part of the pepinera squad in the next 2021/22 campaign, in what will be his second season at Butarque.

Riesgo arrived at Leganés last summer from Girona F.C. after an extensive professional career in our soccer, having previously played in Real Sociedad, in two stages, S.D. Eibar, in two others, R.C. Recreativo and C.A. Osasuna. He was also an international with the Spanish national team in all youth categories up to the U-21 level.

The Basque goalkeeper played a total of seventeen official matches last season, taking over the starting goalkeeping duties on matchday 31 and playing in the last twelve league games and the two matches of the promotion play-off. Before that, he had played three more Copa del Rey matches. He played a total of 1,560 minutes and kept seven clean sheets.
