C.D. Leganés and Sergi Palencia together for another year

The Club has agreed to receive the 24 year old right back on loan for this 2021/22 season. The defender, a product of F.C. Barcelona's youth development, has played both in the Europa League and the U21 Spanish national side.

Palencia, of Badalona, has played in all of F.C. Barcelona's youth teams since he first entered the world of football at youth level. In 2014 he won the UEFA Youth League and in the 2014/15 season he made his debut in the second division with F.C. Barcelona 'B', clocking 11 appearances for the team. 

Joining C.D. Leganés for the first time in the 2020-21 season.

Over the following seasons, the right-back settled in with the Barça reserve team until, in 2018, he was loaned to Girondins de Bordeaux for 3 seasons. Last season, the defender joined the Pabellon side from A.S. Saint-Etienne, who signed him in 2019. So far he has made 39 appearances for los blanquiazules, 34 of them as a starter. Now, Sergi Palencia has rejoined C.D. Leganés and will start training with the group next Sunday, looking to increase his time on the pitch.
