C.D. Leganés will be looking for their third consecutive victory at the Estadio de Vallecas this Monday against Rayo Vallecano. The pepineros have only won twice at the franjirrojo's home ground, but both correspond to their last two visits in official matches.
It was in the 2018/19 season, when both teams were playing in LaLiga Santander and, in addition, they crossed paths in the round of 32 of the Copa de S.M. El Rey. In the tournament of the K.O., the pepineros advanced to the round of 16 after winning in Vallecas (0-1) thanks to an own goal by Velázquez after the draw in the first leg. In LaLiga, Mauricio Pellegrino's side earned three vital points in a 2-1 win with goals from Braithwaite and En-Nesyri.
No wins in derbies in Segunda and Segunda División 'B'.
Previously, Rayo and Leganés had faced each other on ten other occasions in a derby that has been played, in addition to the First Division and the Copa del Rey, in the Second Division and Second Division 'B'. The four clashes in the silver category ended with three local victories and one draw, identical to those in the bronze division.
The total balance of official matches is two victories for Leganés, two draws and eight wins for Rayistas.
