C.D Leganés seeks to beat Girona F.C for the first time

C.D Leganés will seek to beat Girona F.C for the first time on Sunday (16:00h). Pepineros have faced the gerundenses on eight occasions for official matches at Butarque and Montilivi. The white and blues have managed to get four draws and have been defeated on four more occasions.

C.D Leganés and F.C Girona have coincided on two occasions in LaLiga Santander and another two in LaLiga SmartBank. The first match between both teams was played in the silver category in the 2014/15 season: the catalanes won at Butarque by 1-2 after a Lejeune’s own goal. That same season Girona won again at Montilivi by 2-1, Chuli scored that day for the pepineros.

Two draws and two Girona wins in first division

In the following season both matches ended up with draws: 2-2 at Leganés with goals scored by Mantovani and Gabriel and 1-1 at Girona with a goal scored by Timor.

Both teams faced again in the first division with a no-goal-draw at Butarque in the 2017/18 season and a red and white win at Girona by 3-0 on the season’s second leg. The last clashes between both teams were disputed in the 2018/19 season and ended with a no-goal-draw at Montilivi and a Catalan win by 0-2 at Butarque.
