C.D. Leganés travels to the United Arab Emirates during the month of July

C.D. Leganés visited one of its partner academies in the United Arab Emirates during the month of July, with the objective to follow its work in training young athletes and to visit the facilities located in Abu Dhabi.

During the visit, Faissal Chehade, director of the international area of the club, got to know the social work of the Regional Sports Football Academy and had the opportunity to chat with Hamad, a player with Down syndrome who has been welcomed with equality along with the rest of his teammates. C.D. Leganés wanted to have a special gift for Hamad, giving him the second team kit of the season 2021/22 with his name and favourite number.

Regional Sports Football Academy is a professional football academy that was established in Abu Dhabi, UAE, in 2013. The academy was launched with the ambitious goals of supporting the football ecosystem in the country and developing young talent, hosting over 500 players across sites in Abu Dhabi and Dubai. The academy also has a semi-professional team that competes in the second division in the United Arab Emirates, as well as several branches around the world with which it runs activities and camps in Spain.

C.D. Leganes' visit to the United Arab Emirates is the first of the season to the MENA region as part of its international expansion and development strategy, where it also visited the offices of LaLiga delegation in Dubai.
