C.D Leganés won against Málaga C.F at La Rosaleda (1-2). It was the 13th matchday of LaLiga SmartBank. Juande with an own goal, and Sabin Merino with a penalty kick goal helped the pepineros to get three important points.
C.D Leganés jumped into La Rosaleda’s pitch with three changes on its starting eleven: Luis Perea replaced Rubén Pérez, Kevin Bua got in replacing Juan Muñoz and Sabin Merino replaced Borja Bastón.
Great play from Rubén Pardo and Bustinza to put Lega ahead
C.D Leganés tried to possess the ball from the beginning in their rivals’ side of the pitch and the team managed to have three shots on the first ten minutes through Sabin Merino and Arnaiz. Iván Calero had the first occasion for the locals. Málaga C.F had another chance in the 20’ through Rahmani but his shot went up.
C.D Leganés responded in the 26’ with a free kick by Rubén Pardo that went close from the former pepinero Juan Soriano. The first goal of the match arrived in the 33rd minute: Pardo sent a superb cross into the area to Bustinza, who controlled it and Juande put inside his own goal while trying to kick it off. It was 0-1 after the first half.

C.D Leganés continued the attack in the second half from the left wing through Kevin Bua. However, the locals scored the equalizer after a header by Juande that beat Cuéllar. Five minutes later, Juande made a foul against José Arnaiz in the area that was reviewed with VAR and called by the referee. Sabin Merino scored the penalty kick, 1-2.
José Luis Martí made some changes in the forward after the goal: Eraso and Borja Bastón replaced José Arnaiz and Sabin merino. The white and blues held the result with order and stability, not conceding relevant chances to their rivals. Rosales and Miguel de la Fuente also had some minutes at the end of the match.
It is the second away win for C.D Leganés and the sixth win in the last eight matches. The tam has now 25 points in the table. The next match for the pepineros will be against R.C.D Espanyol at Butarque on Thursday (19:00h).
