The C.D. Leganés won this Tuesday against Ourense C.F. in O Couto (0-1) and qualified for the second round of the Copa de S.M. El Rey. A goal by Sergio Gonzalez in extra time led to the victory of the pepineros, who will be in the hype next Friday.
From the beginning, José Luis Martí lined up a completely new team with respect to the team that played the last league match against Real Mallorca, highlighting the debut in the official match with the pepinero shirt of the goalkeeper Asier Riesgo and the debut as a starter of the frontman Miguel de la Fuente.
First half without goals and with distribution of occasions
The pepineros would have three dangerous approaches in the first quarter in the boots of Eraso, Dani Ojeda and Juan Muñoz. The locals, forced to make their first change at 22', tried their luck for the first time at 23' in a left-handed Borja Domingo shot that caught Riesgo well. Shortly after, it was Wadir who could not find the pepinero goal.
The pepineros were trying to find the goal by lines through Dani Ojeda and Kevin Bua, looking for Juan Muñoz between the lines and Miguel in the lead. In the 39th minute it was Rosales who tried it with a great volea that the local goalkeeper caught well. With the initial 0-0, the half time was reached.
Second half with pepineros opportunities without success
The second part began with C.D. Leganes trying to drill the local goal. In the 54th minute, Ourense C.F. was left with ten players due to the expulsion of Wadir after a tackle on Rosales. They dominated the pepineros, who were looking for him through Rosales and Miguel de la Fuente. Also Juan Muñoz tried to do it in a direct free kick that did not take points.
In 74', José Luis Martí made the first change when Ignasi Miquel entered instead of an Omeruo with physical problems. Shortly after, Avilés, Rubén Pardo and Sabin Merino replaced Ojeda, Eraso and Juan Muñoz. Sabin himself had his first shot in the 80th minute, well caught by the local goalkeeper, and in the 83rd minute he crashed the ball into the post. Ignasi Miquel had the last option in added time, but he found himself with the Galician goalkeeper. This way, extra time was reached.
Sergio González, in extra time, scored the winning goal
C.D. Leganés continued to insist and, in the 102nd minute, Sergio González overtook the pepineros with a header from a corner thrown by Kevin Bua and established the 0-1 score. In the second half of extra time, Róber Ibáñez and Borja Bastón entered the 105th minute. In the last minutes, Avilés and Sabin were able to make it 0-2, but the score did not move again.
The C.D. Leganés advances to the second round, which will be decided on Friday and will take place on January 6.
