C.D. Leganés reached an agreement on Tuesday with Paco López for his incorporation as the new coach of the Pepinero team for the next season 2025/26. The Valencian coach, with extensive experience in our sport, signs for one season and will be presented this Wednesday.
At 57 years old, Paco López lands in Butarque to lead the new Leganés project from the bench after a long career of nearly two hundred games in LALIGA EA SPORTS and LALIGA HYPERMOTION. After starting his career on the bench at Villarreal C.F. 'C', he was formed in Valencian football passing through clubs like Catarroja, Benidorm or Alcoyano before debuting in the silver category with Cartagena.
After continuing his career on the benches of Valencia Mestalla, Villarreal 'B' and Atlético Levante, in March 2018 came his chance to make his debut in LALIGA EA SPORTS at the head of the Levante U.D. first team. His great work in the team led him to take the bench at the Ciutat de València in up to 147 official matches in the top flight, completing the next three seasons obtaining permanence in each of them, reaching a Copa del Rey semifinals and remaining at the club until October 2021. He left Levante as the coach with the most games and most victories at the helm of the club. After coaching Granada for fifteen games in LALIGA EA SPORTS, his last experience took place last season at Cadiz CF.
Now, the coach from Silla arrives at Butarque to take charge of the Pepinero bench in the new 2025/26 season. He is joined by Toni López, as assistant coach, and Marc López, as assistant coach. His presentation will take place this Wednesday, June 11 at 13:00 in the press room of the Butarque Sports Facility.
