C.D. Leganés reinforces its goalkeeping with the arrival of Miguel San Román

The goalkeeper from Alicante comes from Elche C.F., with whom he was promoted to LALIGA EA SPORTS.

C.D. Leganés reached an agreement on Wednesday with goalkeeper Miguel San Román Ferrándiz, 28 years old, to join the club for the next season 2025/26. The goalkeeper from Alicante arrives from Elche C.F., with whom he recently won promotion to LALIGA EA SPORTS.

A native of Benidorm, San Román came through the youth ranks at Atlético de Madrid, making his debut with the red-and-white reserve team in the 2016/17 season after finishing his time as a youth player. After being promoted to Second Division “B”, he completed three seasons with Atlético “B”, playing in a playoff for promotion to LALIGA HYPERMOTION and even being called up by the first team.

In 2019 he was loaned to Elche C.F., debuting in the silver category and being part of the promotion of the franjiverde team to LALIGA EA SPORTS. After returning to the discipline colchonera, he made his debut with the first team of Atlético de Madrid in a Copa del Rey match against Cornellà.

Experience in LALIGA HYPERMOTION and two promotions to the First Division behind him

After leaving Atlético, San Román began a new professional stage in 2021, signing for S.D. Huesca. With Huesca he played a season and a half in LALIGA HYPERMOTION, signing in January 2023 for S.D. Ponferradina. That same summer he would return to Elche C.F., where he has competed the last two seasons, accumulating experience in the silver category and returning to achieve another promotion to LALIGA EA SPORTS with the franjiverde team last June, leaving a clean sheet in more than 50% of their games played.

A goalkeeper of great size and reliability, San Román now begins a new professional stage in Butarque to help Leganés achieve their goals. He will wear the number 13 shirt and his presentation will take place in the next few days.
