CD Leganés and Club Tijuana have agreed the loan, with an option to buy, of 27 year old Yoel Bárcenas. The Panamanian international spent his last season also on loan at Girona FC and will now continue his time in Spain in blue and white colours
Edgar Yoel Bárcenas began his football career with CD Árabe Unido de Colón, with whom he reached the cup final. After a brief spell in Croatian football he won the domestic league with Cafetaleros de Tapachula in 2018.
Three seasons of LaLiga SmartBank football with Real Oviedo and Girona FC
Bárcenas' foray into Spanish football got underway at Real Oviedo, where he played in the 2018/19 and 2019/20 seasons, making 70 appearances to contribute 14 goals and registering four assists. These good results brough him to play last season with Girona F.C., where he scored three goals and distributed four assists in a total of 36 regular league games. He formed a crucial part of the promotion play-off against the Catalans, providing a goal and an assist.
Bárcenas has been capped 48 times for his national team and is currently playing in the CONCACAF Gold Cup.
