C.D. Leganés will travel to Mexico for the first time to face the historic Pumas UNAM

The match will be played on July 6 at the Estadio Olímpico Universitario in Mexico City.

C.D. Leganés will cross the Atlantic for the first time to play a friendly match in Mexico. On July 6, the Pepinero team will face Club Universidad Nacional A.C., popularly known as Pumas de la UNAM, one of the most emblematic clubs in the country.

The match, to be held at the Estadio Olímpico Universitario of México D.F., on Sunday 6th July at 12PM in Spain, will be a unique opportunity for the Blue and Whites to strengthen ties with the Mexican fans and continue their internationalization process, while facing a rival with a great tradition in Latin American soccer.

Los Pumas, with seven national and three continental titles to their name, world-class players who have played for them, such as Hugo Sánchez, and a world-renowned youth academy, represent a major challenge for Leganés during their summer Pre-season camp. In addition, this match will be a great opportunity to continue to take the name of Leganés beyond our borders and connect with new soccer fans worldwide.

The match against Pumas will be Leganés' first match of the summer, after which the team will travel to the United States to play two more preparation matches against Louisville City (Saturday, 12th July) and Richmond Kickers (Wednesday, 16th July). In addition, two other friendly matches have already been confirmed against Valencia C.F. (Wednesday, July 23) and Oxford United (Tuesday, July 29), with others still to be confirmed.
