Tuesday morning gave the public their first look at new pepinero midfielder, Cheick Doukouré, who has joined C.D. Leganés for the 2021/22 season.
Accompanied by Txema Indias, the Club's sporting director, Doukouré thanked Leganés for managing his arrival and said he was "proud" to be able to play for los blanquiazules as it presented "an exciting project" with "ambition, like me". Despite recent injury complications, he has assured that he is at 100% fitness and is ready to "give his all" at Leganés.
Even so, the midfielder voiced his awareness that it is "a complicated league in which you have to be prepared all year" but "I don't doubt the team's chance to go up. I believe in the project and I think we have everything we need to achieve our objectives". Doukouré defines himself as "a player with physical abilities, with an intense game and skill on the ball", which will give Leganés everything they need in his position. For Cheick, "now it's time to work, do things right and play everything on the pitch".
