Cup football returns to the Butarque with a double visit from Real Sociedad

C.D. Leganés face a busy week of football at the Butarque with two encounters against two Real Sociedad squads. Wednesday features the Round of 16 cup tie against the first team; Saturday holds the league clash with txuri-urdin second team in the pepineros first league game at home in 2022.

Kicking off the new year in Valladolid, Leganés will experience their first taste of cup football in 2022 with their Copa del Rey fixture against Real Sociedad. The match will be played on 5th January at 16:00 (CET), so only two days can be used by Mehdi Nafti to prepare the squad, with closed training sessions on Monday and Tuesday at 11:00 in the I.D. Butarque. After the final session, the French-Tunisian coach will discuss the fixture in a press conference. 

A tight turnaround, but no relief comes following their cup clash, with only another two days to prepare ahead of receiving Real Sociedad 'B' at home on Saturday 8th at 21:00 (CET). Both the Thursday and Friday trainings beforehand will take place in the morning, at 11:300 and 11:00, respectively. The encounter will be the first LaLiga SmartBank game played at the Butarque in 2022.
