C.D. Leganés fell against Real Madrid (3-0) in the first leg of the round of 16 of Copa del Rey. Ramos from the spot Lucas Vázquez and Vinicius were the scorers. Braithwaite had the best chances for the cucumbers.
Mauricio Pellegrino's man had a clear plan at the Bernabéu, and despite the early pressure from the visitors, Real Madrid had the first chances through Ceballos and Benzema.

Little by little Leganés got close to Navas' goal. Braithwaite had to clear chances to put Leganés ahead, first in a one on one against Navas but his shot went just wide. Then with a good header after a corner forcing a great save. Those were the best minutes by the visitors.

Despite the efforts by Leganés, Real Madrid were awarded a harsh penalty for a foul from Gumbau on Odriozola, and Ramos didn't miss from the spot. 'Los Blancos' were ahead at half-time.
After the break controlled the ball and had a couple chances through Vinicius and Reguilón. In the meantime, Leganés tried to use counterattacks to hurt the locals.

On the 68th minute, Real Madrid doubled their lead thanks to a link-up between Vinicius and Lucas Vazquez. And a few minutes latter the Brazilian got himself on the scoresheet with a volley.
The cucumbers didn't give up and Braithwaite, again, with Sabin Merino had some chances but always found Navas ahead.
The second leg will be played on January 16th at Butarque. This Saturday, also at Butarque, Leganés will face S.D. Huesca for La Liga.
