First derby against C.F. Fuenlabrada at home in LaLiga SmartBank

C.D. Leganés will host C.F. Fuenlabrada this Saturday (20:30) in what will be the first derby between the two in LaLiga SmartBank. Pepineros and fuenlabreños had faced each other so far in Segunda 'B', Third Division and Copa del Rey.

Butarque will therefore host an unprecedented derby in the silver category. The first Leganés-Fuenlabrada in an official match dates back to 34 years ago, in the 1986/87 season, when both teams played in the Third Division, and ended with a clear victory for the Pepineros in the Luis Rodríguez de Miguel (4-1), with goals from Madriñán, Quique (2) and another own goal.

Four wins for the Pepineros, two draws and two wins for Fuenlabreños

In the 1990s, Los Azulones visited Leganés again in a Copa del Rey play-off in the 1991/92 campaign, with a 2-1 win for Los Pepineros in the second leg thanks to goals from Labella and Prieto.
Butarque would host, in the 21st century, the other six clashes between Leganés and Fuenlabrada in Second Division 'B'. The Blue and Whites won the derbies in 2004/05 (1-0, goal by Ángel Castro) and 2007/08 (3-1, goals by Juli and a brace by Berodia), while Fuenlabrada did the same in 2005/06 (0-1, in a match with up to four sending-offs) and 2006/07 (0-2).
The last two derbies at Butarque ended goalless, both in the 2012/13 and 2013/14 campaigns, the latter with Asier Garitano on the bench and Javi Eraso on the pitch in a match played in September 2013.
