Thirteen years ago, on October 14th, 2007, Carlos Martinez made his official debut as C.D Leganés player. The current manager of the second team wore for the first time the white and blue jersey on a match against Universidad de Las Palmas (0-0) at Butarque.
Carlos Martínez arrived to Leganés from Villanueva de Córdoba. The pepineros’ manager by the time, David Gordo sent him into the pitch in the 83’ to replace Javi Vicente. It was the first of 155 official matches with the club in two stages: the first between 2007 and 2010 and the second between 2012 and 2014, the last ended with the second division promotion at L’Hospitalet.
The nicknamed “Zizou de Llerena” wore a shirt signed by Zinedine Zidane after a commercial activity held at Butarque that had the presence of the French. He will start his stage as head coach of C.D. Leganés 'B' after being part of the coaching staff of Luis Cembranos and Javier Aguirre during the 2019/20 season.
