Leganés could not beat Rayo Vallecano on the third friendly match of the season (0-1). A free kick goal by Jony Montiel in the 92’ gave the visitors the win.
The first half was even and didn´t have many chances for both teams. José Luis Martí started with a 4-4-2 scheme with Sabin Merino and Manu Garrido playing on the front, and Rosales and Róber Ibáñez playing as wings.
The goalkeepers barely had to intervene in the first 45 minutes. Cuéllar cleared a dangerous shot from the rayistas while Sabin Merino had the best chance for Leganés after a shot that went wide. It was 0-0 after the first half.
Martí made seven substitutions after half-time including Diego Conde who made his debut on the goal. Juan Muñoz also had his first minutes on the pitch and even his first action was a header that hit the crossbar.
Diego Conde made an important save by the mid of the second half. Arnaiz had to be substituted after some physical problems after half-time. Aviléz was close to score on the 88’ but at the end it was Rayo Vallecano the team that took the victory after Jony Montiel’s goal on the 92’.
Leganés will continue preparing the season and will play their next friendly match on Saturday (19:00h) against Albacete Balompié.
