C.D. Leganés got a point in their match of the thirty-third LALIGA EA SPORTS matchday against Girona F.C. in Butarque (1-1). The pepineros, who had been playing at a disadvantage since 18' due to Cissé's expulsion, equalized in the 92' by Munir. Earlier, Stuani had given Girona the lead.
Leganés came out with two changes in their starting line-up compared to the last matchday in Mallorca, with Juan Cruz and Dani Raba, who returned from suspension, replacing Yvan Neyou and Diego García, who this time started the match on the bench. Lega started strongly, with a first attempt by Alti in minute 3 that went to a corner after being brushed by the defense. Afterwards, both teams began to level the playing field, with both sides testing each other and trying to reach the opponent's goal in the first fifteen minutes.
Leganés were reduced to ten men in the 18th minute after Cissé was sent off
In the 18' came the first key action of the match, with the sending off of Cissé with a straight red card after cutting off an action by Portu as the last defender. Munuera Montero did not hesitate and left Leganés with ten men. Borja Jiménez had to change his team in minute 25, bringing on Darko Brasanac in place of Alti, and Leganés started to play with a back four.
Lega defended against Girona's attacks, who had a chance on the half-hour mark through Portu that was saved by Sergio, and then Krejci headed wide from a corner kick. Raba responded in minute 35 with a free kick from distance that did not find Gazzaniga's goal. With no further approaches, and with 0-0 on the scoreboard, it was time to go to the break.
Stuani gave Girona the lead, but Munir, in the extra time, rescued a point for Lega
The second half started with a change in Lega, with Óscar Rodríguez replacing Yan Diomande. At 54', Girona took the lead through Stuani, who headed a cross from the right by Portu to make it 0-1 and put the Catalans ahead. In minute 64, Leganés tried to react with the introduction of Duk in place of Sergio González, looking for more speed and attacking power.
Entering the last quarter of an hour, Borja Jiménez burned his ships with the entry of Munir and Diego García in place of Jorge Sáenz and Juan Cruz. Leganés pressed in the final stretch even though they were down in numbers, accumulating players in the final third and trying to get the ball into the Girona area. Óscar had a chance with a cross shot that went to a corner, and Leganés' insistence was to pay off in stoppage time. Duk broke down the right and Munir appeared in the area to finish with his first shot and score the equalizer in 92'.
There was no time for any more, and Leganés earned a new point that puts them on 30 points in the standings. Their next match will be on Sunday 4 (16:15) against Sevilla F.C. at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán.
