Leganés’ women’s first team has reached promotion to Preferente category after the end of 2019/20 season declared by the Madrid’s Football Federation. The pepineras finish the competition as the league’s champions with a total of seventeen wins on nineteen matches played.
The women’s team ended the Madrid’s first division tournament with 7 goals against and an average of nine goals in favor per match. The team was by far the one that scored more goals and less goals against on the five groups of the category.
League’s champions, promotion, women’s Villa de Leganés tournament and Boni Cup winners
The team has played a brilliant season in which also managed to win the Boni Cup tournament on Christmas where some teams of a higher category participated. The team won against Rayo Vallecano on semifinals and beat Villaviciosa de Odón on the final to get their second tittle of the season.
This team also was the first women’s team to dispute a match at Estadio Municipal Butarque (after the Spanish National Women’s Team): it was on October 9th, 2019 for the first Women’s Torneo Villa de Leganés tournament. That day the team faced an historic team such as Fundación Rayo Vallecano with more than 4.500 fans watching on the stands. The pepineras got the win after coming back on the match (5-2). It was a small taste of what was going to happen during the season.
