C.D. Leganés striker Miguel de la Fuente scored his first double with the Blue and Whites' shirt on Sunday. The player from Valladolid scored the first two goals in the victory against U.D. Logroñés to put the win on track.
Miguel, who had already scored in LaLiga SmartBank against R.C.D. Espanyol and Rayo Vallecano, and in the Copa del Rey in Socuéllamos, took advantage of a Sergio González delivery in the 22nd minute to make it 1-0, while he showed his instinct in the second half to attack a loose ball and score the second. The '29' was satisfied at the end of the match: "I am very happy that the goals are coming, we need to have good results and today's victory helps us to arrive with strength and enthusiasm to the last matches".
Sabin's ninth goal in his highest scoring season
For his part, Sabin Merino scored the third goal to round off the result, his ninth goal of the season. The player from Urduliz consolidates his position as the team's top scorer in what is his highest scoring season in professional soccer. The Basque was happy to leave the Butarque pitch: "Starting by scoring early has helped us to dominate. I hit it and it went into the top corner, where everyone wants it to go. We are doing a great job, all the teams are scoring and it was important to win. We want to get to the play-offs as well as possible, we have to be optimistic and go for the next one. If there is one thing Leganés has, it is that they always fight to the end and with that mentality they can get anywhere".
