Paco López: "We are not happy with the point, but we are convinced that this is the way forward."

The coach of C.D. Leganés spoke after Friday's match against Cádiz C.F.

The coach of C.D. Leganés, Paco López, appeared this Friday at a press conference after the match between the pepinero team and Cádiz C.F. at the Ontime Butarque Stadium, corresponding to the second round of LALIGA HYPERMOTION, which ended in a draw (1-1).

Merits: "I take away the first half with rhythm, football, chances, and high pressing. Overall, I take away that we were competitive, and playing this way, we will achieve good results. We faced a team with talent in set pieces, there were moments, and we had the first half to make it 2-0. In the second half, we had a very clear chance with Diawara, and after their goal, we were a bit knocked out. We recovered with the support of the fans, who were incredible. We are not happy with the point; we wanted to win, but we are happy with the effort. This is the way forward."

Set pieces: "We’ve had two rounds. Last week we did very well, and today the mismatch came from an outside appearance, and they connected sensationally. It’s not easy when more players than expected come in for the finish. The team has been good on set pieces; these are details that define the match."

Concern: "The team is going to play like this and has had a good match. With the support of the people, we will improve and raise the level. We had a very good first half. We analyze what is related to the game and not just the result. There are forty rounds left, and we have to focus more on the game. We’ve taken a step up in level and will keep insisting."

Fans: "Spectacular. I had good feelings, but having them at home… They pushed us, and I value it a lot. It has to serve as a plus, and the pity is not being able to give them the victory. We’ve had two rounds, and this is the path, for the team and the people."

Pitch: "It will improve. We always try not to make excuses; we would have liked it to be better, but we are convinced it will be fine for the next match."

Substitutions: "Melero and Óscar Plano are going to be important, but they are still in their preseason. We could have made the changes earlier, but we wanted to rely on those two, and we could risk an injury we don’t want."

Duk: "He had a very good first half; the only downside I see is the finishing. Every time he starts, he’s very hard to stop. Pauwels is in a period of adaptation; he’s young and has tremendous qualities. He will contribute because he has a great one-on-one. We will keep working with him. Seeing the attitude in the locker room, I’m convinced things will work out."

Lalo: "There is equality among the center-backs. There will be matches where one thing or another will interest us, but with that level, I don’t mind who plays because it gives us security in collective work. We analyze many things and will decide for each match."

Signings: "Our focus is on the current squad. We are happy, but until the market closes, we have to stay alert for possible arrivals or departures."
