C.D. Leganés receives Real Sporting this Sunday (18:15) at the Estadio Municipal Butarque, in a match corresponding to the thirty-seventh round of LaLiga SmartBank. The pepineros face a direct duel in which they will be looking for their second consecutive victory to consolidate their position in the upper zone.
C.D. Leganés returns to play at home after achieving their fifth away win so far in LaLiga last Sunday in Alcorcón. The Blue and Whites face the last six matchdays from the fourth position with the aim of returning to the First Division. To do so, they will have to keep on winning, starting with this Sunday's victory.
Asier Garitano, the Pepeños' coach, has two of his defenders, Kenneth Omeruo and Rodri Tarín, back for this match, after serving a one-match suspension in Santo Domingo. On the other hand, the injured Unai Bustinza, Ignasi Miquel and Daniel Lasure will continue to be out of the squad for a Leganés team that is the second best home team in the category only behind R.C.D. Espanyol.
Real Sporting, looking for a win to defend their play-off place and look upwards
For their part, Real Sporting go into the match in fifth position, four points behind their opponents this Sunday, against whom they drew in the first leg (1-1). The Gijón side have had a great season so far, remaining in the top six at all times and aiming to return to LaLiga Santander four years later.
The Asturians, however, have accumulated four consecutive matchdays without a win in which they could only get a point, the one obtained last week in Zaragoza (0-0). Coach David Gallego does not count on any suspended player, and could only have the absence of Víctor Campuzano, injured two matchdays ago.
The match will be refereed by the Andalusian referee, Mr. Luis Mario Milla Alvéndiz.
