C.D. Leganés visits Rayo Vallecano this Monday (19:00) at the Estadio de Vallecas, in a match corresponding to the thirty-eighth round of LaLiga SmartBank. The pepineros will be looking to get closer to the promotion play-offs in another direct duel against a Rayo with the same objective.
After facing Real Sporting last matchday, C.D. Leganés faces another clash against a rival with the same objectives: to be among the teams that will fight for promotion to LaLiga Santander in the 'play-off'. The Blue and Whites will seek to defend their fourth place and, incidentally, get closer to the playoffs if they get the three points in Vallecas.
For this, the coach Asier Garitano will not be able to count on the injured Bustinza, Ignasi Miquel, Lasure and Borja Bastón, the latter with a calf problem produced in the last game that will keep him away from the field for about three weeks. Leganés arrive after three consecutive matches without losing, and won their last match away from Butarque (1-2 at Alcorcón).
Rayo, to win to get back to the play-off places
For their part, Rayo Vallecano come into the match after falling out of the play-off places last matchday in favor of Girona F.C. The franjirrojos could not score against C.E. Sabadell at the Nova Creu Alta and lost 2-0, chaining their fourth consecutive match without a win after two draws against U.D. Logroñés and Albacete Balompié and another defeat against C.D. Mirandés.
The coach of the vallecanos, Andoni Iraola, has no suspended players, so he will be able to count on almost the entire squad for a match that starts from the seventh position, just one point away from the sixth place. Leganés already won the first round match at Butarque (1-0), thanks to a goal by José Arnaiz.
The match will be refereed by the referee from Tenerife, Mr. Daniel Jesús Trujillo Suárez.
