Sergio González scores the club's 700th goal in LaLiga SmartBank

C.D. Leganés player Sergio González was in charge of scoring, last Sunday against S.D. Ponferradina, the 700th goal in the club's history in LaLiga SmartBank. A goal that also helped the pepineros achieve an important victory at El Toralín.

Leganés reaches 700 goals in the Second Division, a figure reached in the 651 matches of the sixteen seasons they have played in the category, counting the regular league and promotion play-offs. Sergio González joins the list of strikers who scored goals for the Pepineros in the silver category. Antonio, one of the heroes of the promotion from Second Division 'B', was in charge of scoring Leganés' first goal in the Second Division, on September 5, 1993 against Villarreal. Two years later, on October 8, 1995, Melgar scored his 100th goal in a 2-1 win over Bilbao Athletic.

On February 1, 1998, Catanha scored his 200th goal in a match against Ourense. On September 17, 2000, the 300th goal was scored by Puñal in a victory against Real Murcia in Butarque, while the 400th goal was scored by Lambea in a 5-2 victory against Almería on January 19, 2003.

The 500th goal was scored by Sergio Prendes on May 9, 2015, in the victory against U.D. Las Palmas (2-1), and the 600th goal was scored by Javi Hernández on February 21, 2021, when Leganés beat C.D. Tenerife at Butarque (1-0).
