Seydouba Cissé makes his official debut with the senior squad

Last Friday's game gave the first look at Cissé within the C.D. Leganés lineup. The reserve player, who had already been called up in previous games, played the last thirteen minutes of the blanquiazul match against Real Sporting in Gijón.

Hailing from Dabola, Guinea, Cissé played his first few minutes for the senior squad in LaLiga SmartBank at 20 years old. The west African player was substituted on for Jon Bautista in the 77', but had time to exhibit the fluidity of his passing and his movement off the ball. Cissé participated in much of the senior squad's preseason, playing in several friendlies and even scoring against Real Madrid Castilla in Valdebebas

"I'm elated to debut with the team that I love"

The midfielder is now in his third season at the club, having arrived in 2019 from F.C. Atouga in Guinea already with an international profile thanks to his appearances in the national youth side at the 2017 U17 World Cup in India. Initially a memebr in the Juvenil 'A' squad, he joined the reserve team and helped them to a Segunda División RFEF  promotion last season as a keystone of Carlos Martínez's midfield. On his first senior appearance, Cissé expressed: "I'm elated to debut with the team I love. We're going to keep working to get stronger".

Cissé is the third pepinero academy player to have risen the ranks to play in LaLiga SmartBank, joining Naim García, who has made five league appearances so far, and Diego García, who featured in the two opening games of the season.
