C.D. Leganés return this Sunday at 14:00 CEST to Anduva, the special site of their first and, as of yet, only promotion to LaLiga Santander in 2016. The fixture marks the fourth pepinero visit to C.D. Mirandés, all of which have taken place in Segunda and have produced every possible result.
One game that will forever be etched in the memory of sentimiento pepinero, will be the fixture played between Leganés and C.D. Mirandés on 4th June 2016, which saw the pepineros top off an iconic season with a 1-0 victory over the home side. Pablo Insua's goal in the 47' was the final piece in the promotion puzzle and instantly became a part of the club's rich history. Today, only Bustinza and Garitano remain from the promotion side.
Last year's goalless draw kept Leganés' play-off ambitions afloat
In their first encounter last season, Leganés fell short of the mark when they lost away to C.D. Mirandés 1-0 thanks to César Caneda's goal from a corner given in the final minutes of the match.
The third and most recent clash between the two sides to be played in Anduva took place on the penultimate matchday of the season, but produced a less dramatic result in a 0-0 game, though it helped Leganés maintain their play-off position right to the end.
