This is what the new 2021/22 season will look like

The new 2021/22 season in LaLiga SmartBank already has officially established dates. According to what was made public by the Royal Spanish Football Federation, the championship in the silver division will kick off on the weekend of August 14-15, will have three midweek matches and will end in its regular phase on the weekend of May 28-29.

LaLiga will begin in mid-August, with three matches in that month. The first midweek matchday will take place on Wednesday, October 20, on the eleventh day of competition, with midweek matches also scheduled on matchdays 23 (January 19) and 37 (April 20). In addition, the twenty-first matchday will be played between Friday, December 31, 2021 and Sunday, January 2, 2022.

The promotion play-off will be played between June 1 and 19; the Copa del Rey will start on December 1.

The regular league will play its last matchday on the weekend of 28-29 May, while the play-off for promotion to LaLiga Santander will take place between 1 and 19 June. For its part, the Copa de S.M. El Rey will begin for Leganés with the first round scheduled for December 1. Two weeks later, the second round will be played, while the round of 32 will be played on January 5. The final will take place on April 23.
