To end a magnificent first round with a victory

C.D. Leganés receives C.D. Tenerife in the last match of 2023 (Wednesday, 9:30 p.m.)

C.D. Leganés receives C.D. Tenerife this Wednesday (21:30) at the Estadio Municipal Butarque, in a match corresponding to the twenty-first day of LALIGA HYPERMOTION. The pepineros will seek to end the year with a victory in the last match of the first round of the league.

Last game of 2023 and of the first half of the season for Leganés, who are looking to finish the first half of the championship at the top of the table. After a magnificent first half of the season, after which the team will finish in the direct promotion places, the pepineros want to end the year with a good feeling and three points that will allow them to face the second half of the league with more optimism if possible.

With only one defeat in the last eleven matchdays, Lega (who have not lost at Butarque since the first matchday, last August 13) faces this Wednesday's match with the possible absence of the injured Miguel de la Fuente, Raba, Darío Poveda and Jorge Miramón. Despite the day and the time, Butarque will once again be back to support its supporters, with more than four hundred new season ticket holders for the second half of the season in just four days who will be able to attend this match.

Asier Garitano returns to Butarque for the third time as rival coach.

For its part, Tenerife arrives at Butarque with the intention of taking the three points to finish the first round in the promotion play-off zone. The islanders arrive after losing in the last matchday against Racing de Ferrol (3-1), but before that they had won in the two previous matches against Eldense and Alcorcón, and in Leganés they will be looking for their fourth away win of the season.

They will do so with Asier Garitano at the helm, a Pepinero legend and the second coach with the most matches in the club's history, the architect of the promotions to Second Division (2014) and First Division (2016). The man from Bergara, who returns to Butarque for the third time as visiting coach after doing so with Real Sociedad and Alavés, will have the possible absences of the injured Mellot, José León, Javi Alonso, Waldo and Enric Gallego.

The match will be refereed by the Valencian referee, Mr. Iván Caparrós Hernández.
