Women’s Senior Team will make its Preferente debut. A new season full of hopes

C.D Leganés Women’s Senior team will visit Fundación Rayo Vallecano this Sunday, November 15th (09:30h) for the first matchday of the league. Jero Martos’ team will make its Preferente debut against an experienced rival.

Hope. That is the feeling of our players from the Senior team before their next match against Rayo Vallecano on Sunday. The team is thrilled about competing again after six months and excited about their debut on the category after being promoted last course.

The Senior team dreams with continue with the winning streak on official matches. Last season ended with 16 wins and only 3 losses, numbers that allowed them to get promoted to Preferente category. They will now face an experienced team that knows the competition and will not be easy to defeat away from home.

Keep the category: the main objective

The pepineras seek to continue with their good streak and their coach Jero Martos has the objectives clear: “In my opinion the objective, taking in account all the training problems, the COVID, lockdown, etc, is to keep the category and try to fight next year for the promotion, but right now the most important is to remain playing at Preferente”.

Jero Martos’ team start the season with practically the same team that finished the last one except for Alex Nica, Alexia and Lorena. The team has signed Raquel Torres, Noelia Manzano, and Valentina Lafort, three players that come to help the team to reach their survival objective.

Rayo aims to get the win

Fundación Rayo Vallecano will start the season with the objective of winning again after eight official matches without doing so. They will try to claim the three points against Leganés to start with the right foot.
