C.D. Leganés head coach Igor Oca appeared this Sunday ahead of the match between the "pepinero" side and S.D. Huesca this Monday at the Ontime Butarque Stadium, corresponding to matchday 40 of LALIGA HYPERMOTION.
The Blue and Whites' coach assessed the current situation ahead of the clash as follows:
Absentees: "The same as last week, including Jorge Sáenz and Franquesa—because Naim is on a yellow card warning and we want to count on him if he needs to participate—as well as Melero and Leiva, who are doing fieldwork but it is still too early to have them ready for tomorrow."
A final for survival: "The match offers us the chance to seal it with a victory. It’s a huge reward after the anxiety felt by the club, fans, players, and coaching staff, and we have to go for it. The last two games, even if it’s tough, allow for a positive assessment against teams fighting at the top. What you did previously doesn't matter anymore; it’s those one hundred minutes tomorrow that are key and fundamental."
Results of the teams below: "Data can be interpreted however it suits you. This competition has turned out this way; we compete against ourselves and the rest, and it has been tough for those at the bottom to win. We must defend our advantage and extend it to certify our safety, which is what we want and what will bring much more peace of mind."
Rubén Peña: "There is a chance he will play. He has already been on the bench for the last two games and is important for us off the pitch as well. We fast-tracked his availability, and since last week, he has been in a position to play."
Message to the fans: "They have been a ten out of ten from the start. They need us to share that confirmation of safety. We are going to give it everything, with courage, knowing that the opponent has that same urgency. We hope they are fired up alongside the team, helping us in key moments and knowing that this match is vital. Evaluations will come afterward; there are points at stake and terribly important minutes ahead. We are going in with total readiness to win, knowing that the extra push the fans give us will be fundamental."
