On Monday, C.D. Leganés reached an agreement with Greek club Panathinaikos F.C. for the loan of 27-year-old defender Javier Hernández Carrera, after terminating his existing loan with Al-Arabi S.C. in Qatar. The loan, which includes an option to buy, will run until the end of the 2025/26 season.
Javi Hernández, who has a contract with the Pepinero club until 2027, arrived at Leganés in the summer of 2020 from Real Madrid C.F. Since then, he has played 112 official matches in the blue and white shirt, scoring nine goals.
During this time, he also played on loan at Girona, Cádiz, and Al-Arabi itself. He will now continue his career with the Greek team, which is currently competing in this season's UEFA Europa League.
The club wishes him the best of luck in the coming months, both personally and professionally.
