Igor Oca: "Missing the penalty at the end leaves us with a bad taste"

C.D. Leganés head coach Igor Oca spoke in the post‑match press conference after Friday’s game between the pepinero side and R.C. Deportivo, corresponding to Matchday 38 of LALIGA HYPERMOTION, which ended in a 2–1 defeat.

The coach assessed what happened on the pitch as follows:

Match assessment: "We let a very hard‑fought match slip away, one in which we limited Deportivo’s strengths very well in the first half. We had the chance to launch quick attacks. It’s a shame to concede so early in the second half with such a good finish. Missing the penalty in stoppage time leaves a bitter taste. The atmosphere from the stands was quite toxic from the first half. It’s a shame to experience these kinds of situations, and we were shown a card when hardly any football was played in stoppage time. That’s how it is. I have to reinforce the players’ attitude in these remaining weeks, in which we have to give everything to achieve our objective."
