C.D. Leganés coach Paco López appeared at a press conference this Saturday following the match between the Pepinero team and F.C. Andorra, corresponding to the eighth round of LALIGA HYPERMOTION, which ended in a 2-1 victory.
The coach gave his assessment of the match against the Andorrans this way:
Match assessment: "In the first half, we knew how to play against Andorra and had three clear scoring chances to take the lead. We deserved to go into the break with a lead. In the second half, we were right on target with Duk's foul and Naim's run. No one challenged Andorra's possession, and we challenged them until the 2-0 scoreline, and that says a lot about our team. After the 2-0 scoreline, we almost had to keep our own half. They dominated and had possession, but they didn't create many chances beyond the disallowed goal and the goal from a corner. At 2-1, you feel uncertain, but fortunately, we won the game, which we so desperately needed."
Character: "Victories are always good, no matter how you're in the game, but even more so after two defeats. We came in with that need, but I really liked the team's personality, aside from their effort. We knew how to play against Andorra, which is no easy feat. They dominate you a lot with the ball and are very difficult to neutralize. What the team did today, showing that daring with the ball, especially in the first half, is very commendable."
