Juvenil A's dream of winning the cup was dashed from the penalty spot after 120 minutes of deadlock against C.D. Tenerife. The match, played at the Estadio Ontime Butarque, brought together the Pepineros and the Tenerife side in search of a place in the quarterfinals of the Copa del Rey Juvenil.
The first chance to take the lead fell to Leganés, with a shot from Iker Bachiller from the edge of the area that hit the post, preventing the first goal of the match. However, it was Suso Santana's C.D. Tenerife who struck first from a set piece in the 24th minute. Despite the goal against them, the Pepineros' Juvenil A team was creating more danger in front of the opposition's goal, and in the 36th minute, Belda scored with a header after a great free kick from Noé.
In the second half, the game remained evenly balanced, but Leganés once again had the clearest chance of the second half with a shot from Escamilla that was saved by a great intervention from the visiting goalkeeper.
With regulation time over, the tie went into extra time, but the score remained unchanged and the winner was decided on penalties. C.D. Tenerife secured their place in the quarter-finals after a penalty shootout with a score of 7-8 in favor of the Tenerife side.
