More training time at Valdebebas

C.D. Leganés continued its pre-season this Tuesday with a new friendly, which took place in Valdebebas against Real Madrid and ended in a home victory (4-1).

In an entertaining first half under the suffocating heat of the Madrid afternoon, Real Madrid took the lead in the 20th minute through Valverde, who picked up an inside pass to beat Raúl Fernández in a one-on-one.

Shortly after, Gonzalo widened the gap, but Leganés did not put their heads down and, in the 36th minute, made it 2-1 courtesy of Naim, who cut inside his defender and struck an unstoppable crossed right-footed shot past former Pepinero Lunin. Still before the break, Gøthler had a good chance following a pass from Buurmeester, but Lunin deflected it to a corner. The match reached half-time with 2-1 on the scoreboard.

With five changes after the restart, plus the entry of Andrés Campos shortly after the second half began, the hosts extended their lead through Mastantuono in the 58th minute and an own goal by Pulido in the 60th. Shortly after came the debut of Tunisian international Ismaël Gharbi as a Pepinero, getting his first minutes after being presented this very Tuesday.

Leganés thus continues with its preparation, and on Thursday the team will travel to Wales to face Swansea City on Saturday (16:00 hours) in another friendly match.
