C.D. Leganés held the official presentation of Allan Nyom as a pepinero this Friday to begin his second stretch at the club. The defender expressed his happiness to return to the Butarque camp and hopes to make good on his second stage there to help the team to more victories.
The full back was thankful for "the efforts made to bring me here. I'm going to give everything to return the faith placed in me. I've asked forgiveness from the fans and anyone I offended during that game at the Butarque; I'm here to help on the pitch. I'm happy to be back".
Nyom assured that he would be "available; I've been training all this time with my old club. The second division is very complicated, there are a lot of quality sides that are fiercely competitive, but I'm preparing for that. A lot of time has passed since I last played in Segunda, but I'm ready when the boss needs me. We're all going to pull together to get out of this. I knew the club and when I found out there was an opportunity to return here, I didn't think twice. A club like Leganés has to get as many points as possible and continue to win games".
The club's sporting director, Txema Indias, added: "we know him well, both personally and professionally, at the club. We can only express our thanks that he took this decision and made it happen; he's come back to wear the badge despite having a first division contract. There's ambition and desire behind the move and he's been professial and will give everything for the club out there. I would hope that people are open to getting to know him because a different picture can be painted on the pitch. I understand that our fans feel hurt, because he scored against us and celebrated in our faces, but I would ask them to appreciate we are bringing a very, very capable player into the fold, so that we can move forward".
Indias admitted that "you have to respect the fans and I acknowledge the criticism, also regarding our position in the table. What we want to acheive is a turn-around, with 10/10 players like Allan so that we can give the fans what we haven't these past few months. He spent a year with us and contributed so much in that time, we need to recognise where we are now and know which players are ready to unite behind this project".
The sporting director went on to explain the transfer landscape as "different from other years, football is lived day to day and we're in a complex situation that we created ourselves. Any players that want to return to the club is only positive for us. Either we come out to our fans openly or it's going to be very sensitive and difficult. We ask that during the next 90 minutes of football they support us to the maximum because there is a lot to play for in these next four months".
Lastly, the executive confirmed that "the message in the changing room is clear: we want to improve the squad with signings like Róber and Allan, but to talk of climbing the table when we are where we are would be a mistake. We have good players, but we haven't quite got in tune yet. We're a bit stuck and to look ahead before the Alcorcón game would be destabilising. The reality is that we're on the cusp of the drop and we need to take steps to move forward, focusing on anything other than that would be wrong", he concluded.
