C.D could not sum any points after losing by the minimum (1-0) against C.E Sabadell. The pepineros could not score after several occasions created and loss after a goal by Stoichkov who scored on one of the few occasions for the locals.
The pepineros jumped into Nova Creu Alta pitch with three changes from the team that won against Real Oviedo: Bustinza was a starter for the first time in the season, Luis Perea started playing in the midfield and Santos started at the front. Shibasaki, José Arnaiz and Sabin Merino were part of the substitutes this time.
Almost seven clear chances and three shots hit the crossbar on the first half
C.D Leganés had its first occasion through Santos who could not kick the ball well after an assist by Borja Bastón. Rubén Pardo also had a chance but was not able to finish it properly. Santos had another chance again, but his shot hit the crossbar.
C.D Leganés continued looking to score and was Santos again the one who had a chance in the 26th minute but his shot went out after hitting the post. Luis Perea had another occasion on the 30’ but his header hit the crossbar. Another crossbar after a header by Borja Bastón did not allow the pepineros to score. Santos had another chance in the 39’ after a right-foot-shoot that touched the post again. Undabarrena was the only to get close to Cuellár’s goal before the break, 0-0.
A goal by Stoichkov after a review by VAR on the local’s only shot on goal gave the three points to Sabadell
José Luis Martí sent Lasure into the pitch to replace Javi Hernández, who had received a yellow card. Stoichkov beat Cuéllar at the start of the half allowing C.E Sabadell to take the lead. VAR reviewed the play and conceded the goal for the locals after a three-minute-review. The match had to be paused again after the referee had some physical difficulties and was later replaced by the fourth referee. Shibasaki and Arnaiz got into the pitch in the 65’ replacing Tarín and Rubén Pardo.
Luis Perea was replaced by Avilés on the last quarter of the match to look for more attack. He had a free kick occasion on the 83rd minute but unfortunately the ball went wide. C.D Leganés continued trying until the end of the match through Juan Muñoz, who replaced Michael Santos. No goals were scored for the visitors. At the end it was a 1-0 win for C.E Sabadell.
