As if it was today… eight years ago Leganés managed to win a crucial match against Tenerife at Butarque (2-0). With this win the team continued its fight to stay at Segunda División 'B'. Tonino and Víctor were the ones that scored for the pepineros. It would be Víctor’s last goal as a professional football player.

José María Rico’s team was last on the league standings and faced a team that was already on play-offs positions. The pepineros initial squad was: Rubén Falcón, Pedro Hernández, Mario, Biel Medina, Alcántara, De Lerma, David López, Tonino, Víctor, Vicente and Rubén Navarro. Marco Navas, Chupe and Javi Ballesteros played on the second half. Tonino scored the first goal for the locals at 20’ and Víctor increased the lead with a header on second half. This would be Víctor’s last goal as a professional football player reaching a total of 190.

Staying at Segunda División 'B' was closer after this important win for Leganés.
