Leganes were cruelly defeated at the Ciutat de Valencia despite playing their best football away from home so far this season, creating several chances and hitting the woodwork up to three times.
Levante were clinical when it mattered, scoring with their first shot on target after a recovery by José Campaña on the middle of the park, who setted up Roger Martí for him to open the account on the 13th minute.
Leganes reacted well despite being behind at under the heavy rain had a couple chances, first with Carrillo after a cross from the left forcing Oier to make a save and then through Jonathan Silva who hit a powerful shot that ended up hitting the post after being deflected by Oier. At the end of the first half, Recio who maded his debut as starter this season, tried his luck with a shot that went just wide.
On the second half Leganes enjoyed more of the ball and with the substitutions pinned Levante back on their half with En Nesyri on the field. The Moroccan hit the crossbar after a cross from Rolan, and minutes later had another chance one-on-one that went just wide. With 10 minutes to go the Number 26 hit the crossbar again with a header. Despite having several chances the cucumbers weren't clinical enough.
With Leganes high up on the field looking for an equalizer, Levante found spaces for a counter that ended up with Rochina scoring the 2-0.
