C.D. Leganés achieved their first comeback of the season away from Butarque on Sunday. The pepineros took the three points from Santo Domingo after overturning the opening goal of A.D. Alcorcón, in what was the third comeback so far in LaLiga, after those achieved against C.D. Lugo and U.D. Almería.
So far, the Blue and Whites had only been able to turn around an adverse result to end up winning those two matches, both of which were held at home. Against the Galicians, they won 3-2, and against the Andalusians, 2-1 thanks to a goal by Omeruo in stoppage time.
In Alcorcón, Leganés made the most of their chances to win the match with goals from Shibasaki and José Arnaiz. It had been more than a year since the pepineros last lifted an away match, as the last time had been in March 2020, in the last match with the public in the stands, when they won at the Estadio de la Cerámica against Villarreal C.F. by 1-2 with a double from Óscar Rodríguez despite starting from behind.
