C.D. Leganés and footballer Cheick Doukouré go their separate ways. The Ivorian centre midfielder will not see out the second stretch of the season with the club after 17 official appearances since his arrival last summer, with one goal to his name.
Doukouré played 14 LaLiga SmartBank matches and three in the Copa del Rey for a total of 502 minutes and one goal scored, against Xerez Deportivo F.C. in a cup tie. The club wishes him the best in both his professional future and personal wellbeing.
The club has reasoned, in light of the circumstances and the long recovery time for Fede Vico's injury, by mutual consent with Doukouré, to process his release from the players' federation for the remainder of the 2021/22 season in order to have a larger quota of licences, with the a valid contract waiting for the 2022/23 campaign. The club is incredibly grateful for his attitude and good will to help the team as the season continues.
