C.D. Leganés 'B' end the first half of the season only a point from play-off spots

C.D. Leganés 'B', managed by Carlos Martínez, find themselves in 6th place of Group 1 of Segunda División RFEF, with 24 points, halfway through the season. The affiliate team are teetering on the edge of the play-off positions, only one point separating them from current occupiers, Bergantiños F.C.

The reserve side has played 17 of the league fixtures so far this camaign, in what is their first year competing in this category after they secured promotion back in last April. A performance that commands respect: six wins, six draws and five defeats for the newly blooded side. C.D. Leganés 'B' has won nine of their points so far at home, having triumphed over Marino de Luanco and la Gimnástica Segoviana, while earning 15 points on the road, beating U.C. Ceares, Pontevedra C.F., C.D. Navalcarnero and U.D. Llanera.

Four players have featured for the first team, with many others receiving call-ups

The squad's top scorers are currently Álex San Cristóbal and Mario Rivas, both notching six so far this season. Rivas, as well as Diego García, Javi Rubio and Cissé have all stepped onto the pitch to play for the senior team too, both in the context of LaLiga SmartBank and Copa del Rey football. Others such as Alba, Ofoli-Quaye and Joserra have also had the privilege of being named in matchday squads despite not having yet debuted for the first squad.

Carlos Martínez's side's next league encounter is fast approaching: their upcoming opponents U.C. Ceares travelling to play at the I.D. Butarque at 16:00 (CET) this Saturday in a reverse fixture.
