C.D. Leganés receives Rayo Vallecano this Sunday (21:00) at the Estadio Municipal Butarque, in the second leg of the semi-final of the play-off for promotion to LaLiga Santander. After losing 3-0 at the Estadio de Vallecas, the pepineros will be looking for a large and necessary victory at home to continue fighting for promotion.
The Blue and Whites will arrive at Butarque to play with all their weapons to overcome the result of Thursday's match in Vallecas against Rayo, who scored three goals in the last twenty minutes and kept a clean sheet. A result that, in the words of Asier Garitano, "is very hard for us", but the team will continue to fight.
To do so, they will count on the support of their fans, who will return in the number of 1,500 spectators to the stands of Butarque fifteen months later. Surely, the fans will lay the first stone for the comeback and the team will give everything to achieve it. In terms of absentees, the Pepineros will be without Bustinza, Lasure, Shibasaki and Arnaiz, due to injury, and Rosales, with his national team.
Rayo Vallecano, looking to seal their place in the final
For their part, Rayo Vallecano, who qualified in the last matchday due to Sporting's defeat and despite their own defeat against Lugo (0-1) in Vallecas, have arrived strong to the play-offs and will fight this Sunday to maintain Thursday's result against Lega and qualify for the final. The coach of the franjirrojo team, Andoni Iraola, will not be able to count on Dimitrievski and Advíncula, with their national teams, while Bebé will be doubtful due to physical problems.
The match will be refereed by the Cantabrian referee, Mr. José Antonio López Toca.
