C.D. Leganés Senior Femenino could not take all three points home with them from the Alberto Ruiz, where they were evenly matched by A.D. Colmenar Viejo (1-1). For all their efforts, the pepineras had to reconcile to the level result in this final fixture of the first stretch of the season that saw them surrender their position in 1st.
The squad were hoping to close out the first half of the season in the best way possible: maintaining their leadership and recovering their form with a win after their disappointment after facing Olímpico de Madrid ‘B’. It may have been the number of recent fixtures that fatigued the team, but despite their inspired second half performance, it did not suffice to bring home all three points, forcing them to surrender their 1st place spot.
Ale equalises in the second 45
The first half however, was a different story. One that the pepineras could not shake over 90 minutes. Heavy pressure from the locals did much to unsettle the blanquiazules, with their domination bearing fruit after 21 minutes of play to give them the lead. From there, the Senior team responded better, growing into the game and coordinating more approaches into the final third yet without conversion.
As the second half got underway, Leganés looked to be a different side altogether; they marshalled the home side expertly and hemmed them into their half, producing multiple chances on net. Finally, the reward for their insistence came in the 67' when Ale secured the leveller. With little more than 20 minutes left, the pepineras did not let up, but their desire for a goal went unanswered for the remainder of play; even the crossbar denied them once. The tied result forces the blanquiazules to drop from first to second despite their 40 points, now level with Las Rozas C.F., who currently lead the pack.
Juvenil struggle to deserved win (3-2)
On the other hand, Juvenil will be delighted with their incendiary performance over Escuela de Fútbol AFE (3-2). Not one, but two comebacks were in order for the pepineras, whose players Claudia Real, Molina and Nadia all scored to deliver them a victory. Cadete were valiant in their efforts to keep Madrid C.F.F. at a draw in a fixture that ended goalless.
Infantil ‘A’ did not enjoy the same fortune against their Madrid C.F.F. counterparts as they suffered a defeat (5-2) in a match of harsh refeering. Sara and Inés were the blanquiazules who bagged the consolation goals. Lastly, Infantil ‘B’ also produced a level result as they faced Racing Villaverde in an encounter that stay contested right to the final whistle. Nerea will take MVP as her goal saved the pepineras from defeat as she denied a last minute penalty for the opposition. Irene was the lone pepinera scorer.
