Carlos Martínez: "We came here to win, but it wasn't possible".

C.D. Leganés' coach, Carlos Martínez, appeared at a press conference after the 2-0 defeat against Granada C.F. at the Nuevo Los Cármenes. The Blue and Whites' coach wanted to congratulate the home team for their well-deserved promotion and highlighted that the team wanted to win, but it was not possible.

"First of all, congratulations to Granada and their fans. I am satisfied with the results that have been given and the dynamic and the image we have given since I arrived. I would have liked to continue with that streak, but we knew that it was a very complicated match against a team that was playing for what they were playing for, we came here to win but it was not possible," he said.

The coach analyzed a match in which his team started the game generating danger: "We came with the idea of being as professional as possible, we wanted to win and be as high as we could. We started the match very well, we created quite important approaches. After 25 minutes they improved and scored that goal at the end. In the second half, we had more of the ball, but we had few chances to score and create danger. Granada generated danger every time they counterattacked", he highlighted.

Finally, Carlos Martínez expressed his desire to continue at the head of the Blue and Whites' team and thanked for the opportunity he has been given: "The first thing was to show that you can be here and achieve things, and we have done that. Of course I would like to continue, but that is up to the club's management. I am delighted and grateful that they have given me the opportunity to manage C.D. Leganés", he concluded.
