Carlos Martínez is C.D Leganés 'B' new coach

C.D Leganés, led by is academy director Jorge Broto has closed the signing of Carlos Martínez Fernández as the second team coach for the 2020/21 season. The former player of the pepineros will be the one to enhance the youth players talent after being part of Javier Aguirre´s coaching staff on the previous season.

Carlos has already worked with the second team previously as Luis Cembranos coaching staff’s assistant coach and physical trainer. Carlos holds the title of National Coach, a degree in Physical Activities and Sports Science, a master’s in Physical Preparation form the Royal Spanish Football Federation and a Master’s in Nutrition and sports. Once he retired from professional football, he got to work with Atlético de Madrid’s youth teams and as a physical trainer with U.D San Sebastían de los Reyes on Segunda División B before leaving to work with Saudi Arabian Al-Efttifaq Club.

As a professional football player Carlos left good memories at the Club and its fans having played a total of 146 matches with C.D Leganés on Segunda División B during the 2007/08, 2009/10, 2012/13 and 2013/14. He also helped the team to be promoted to Segunda División being one of the team’s captain. He is also one of the 12 players who have played more matched in the Club’s history.

His coaching staff memebers will be announced on the following days with all the details of the youth team’s preseason.
